Hello! I'm Rae and I am a successful entrepreneur who has found love in giving others peace of mind. I've been in Cowlitz County for over 13 years and look forward to committing many more years to our wonderful community.
I have been a pet owner for over 35 years and I truly love spending time with all animals! Before I started into the wonderful world of pet sitting, I was on the road for work a lot; this often meant I was seeking help for my animals when shifts ran long. On the rare occasion we were able to leave for a family outing - finding trustworthy, reliable care for my animals - that met my high standard - was, well extremely difficult. When COVID hit, as many of us did, I made a change to my lifestyle - first was work. I was tired of being on the road and away from my family, so I changed jobs and began working at home part time. While planning a vacation, I realized my pet care problem had not resolved and I had no leads that were consistent. My dogs are terribly spoiled and a commercial boarding kennel was just not the option I felt comfortable with for any period of time. Plus with our livestock, having capable and competent help seemed illusive as ever. That moment I said, no more worrying and decided to offer services to my neighbors and friends for animal care. It wasn't my first time caring for others pets and it came back so naturally. After seeing the potential and joy in this work - it was time to expand. My first hurdle was getting the word out about my new adventure to others who cherished their pets and needed some help. I joined a few pet sitting sites and began meeting some amazing and wonderful customers. Within two months, I was making more furry and human friends than I ever imagined. This is when I knew it was time to branch out on my own to give the families who trust me the best experience possible. My husband and daughter (pictured to the right) also help our wonderful clients - combined, I'd say we have well over 50 years experience. That's a lot of opportunities to become the most successful animal care business! Today, we are filling up the calendar faster than ever and we couldn't be happier to be a premier animal care company! I am looking forward to many years running The Blue Hound. Sincerely, Rae |
